Ah yes....   Mangled Asian "Engris"!   I have one of the earliest Sony 
AM-SW portable radios circa 1957 that has the warning inside the battery 
compartment "Caution on porality [sic] of batteries or give a damage to 
transistors" .   


I also have an ad for a Kenwood 4-channel (quadraphonic) stereo amp 
circa 1972. Comparing it's features vs using two ordinary 2-channel 
stereo amps, the brochure says it "requires twice as little space for 
location".
