Maybe your ISO's are bad?

I've never had a problem burning Ubuntu discs to CD-R's, and I have burned
30 or so of them. To be honest, I can't remember the last time I had a bad
CD burn.. Maybe with my PII 500MHZ box and early 4x HP CDRW drive 4 or 5
years ago.

With working modern hardware, good downloads, recent burning software (XP
compatible at least), and good discs, you should almost never have any
problems.

I have seen people try to use old copies of EZ-CD Creator (2000 vintage),
hold onto old burners way too long, or have consistanly bad ISO downloads
due to misbehaving AV software or a ridiculously outdated browser. If you
have a lot of crap running in the background, or 8 malware/AV apps, you're
going to have issues with disc access and RAM usage.

It goes without saying, but if you're doing it on XP, you need 256 MB to RUN
the OS, and probably double that to run it WELL.. that includes enough RAM
to handle CD burning tasks.

I tried a sampling of different DVD-writers - all with current firmware -
all in different computers - four in total (LG, Samsung, Pioneer, BTC).
I think that's a pretty good sample. These are different chassis. One is
USB, one in my HTPC, and two different laptops. I also tried two different
brands of CD-R's.

All produced errors. Even with the recomended Ubuntu ISO burner. Error
counts went up when tested in a DVD ROM that the disc wasn't burned in.

Error dialog.
