Hi Tom,

Here is the mechanical concept drawing I have been promising for a while
now...

The first page is the top view of the DE with mounting locations for a
RPi HAT (Hardware Attached on Top) or the TangerineSDR LEAF (Low-speed
Expansion Adapter Fixture), which are mutually exclusive options. The
HAT mounts to the 40-pin, dual-row,  0.1" center-to-center RPi header
only. The LEAF mounts to an M.2 connector and then tilts down to engage
the RPi 40-pin header. This gives the LEAF all of the HAT connectivity,
plus some medium-speed I/O from the M.2 for a total of 107 I/O pins.

The RPi 40-pin header can be a long-pin socket with the sockets mounted
on the back side of the DE (towards a RPi board), allowing the DE to
directly plug into the RPi. If we use a tall enough connector (or an
extender plug) to accommodate the CKM that mounts in between them.

Also on top are the M.2 connectors for the two RF Modules, each with 67
pins of high-speed connectivity, the two RJ-45s and the USB connectors.

The second page is the bottom side shown as a through-the-top X-ray
view. The Clock Module and the two 12-pin PMOD connectors are shown. The
Clock Module connectors (other than the M.2 main connector) will stick
out to the left past the edge of the DE.

Page three shows the sizes for the boards:

DE std 90mm x 100mm
HAT std 65mm x 56mm
LEAF std 65mm, 63mm
RFM std 40mm x 40mm, max 40mm x 65mm
RFM Double std 90mm x 40mm, max 90mm x 65mm
CKM std 40mm x 45mm, max 40mm x 65mm

Soon to be incorporated into a DE ICD document.

73,
Scotty WA2DFI
