Thanks once more Bob...  In case someone is familiar with ve3zda's particular box it is:
Model # TG3482ER3 by ARRIS Group. I downloaded the user manual and it is totally mute on anything to do with set-up for anything other than the most pedestrian of uses.

So, Don raised a ticket at the portal to see if we could get any info from them, and also has tried to contact Rogers. I don't know the outcome of that call. No-one has picked up the ticket yet. I'll see what I can find out about your suggestion about https://connect.44net.cloud/ of ARDC  and use a WireGuard VPN tunnel.

All TV channels arrive nowadays over tcp/ip in those Rogers boxes according to my information when they upgraded their system so it shouldn't matter and in general they don't use CGNAT for those.
