[nos-bbs] reply/forward with included message

Ken,

I use h-addresses right from Outlook Express that when sent to JNOS act like the message was composed in the JNOS computer. I also use callsign at n0mr.ampr.org that also acts like messages generated in the JNOS computer. No changes are needed in the rewrite file. I don’t have training in computer and mail handling so I must learn as I go but this has worked fine for me.

The only problem I’ve encountered is with Windows 7 and the Windows Live Mail program not recognizing the #nemn local designator part of the h-address and I have to omit that part of the address. For our local mail this is not a problem and when I need that designator I enter the message directly on the JNOS machine or by telnet to the JNOS machine. I could use the rewrite function to add that local designator to the address.

I have a JNOS mail account in Outlook Express that points to my JNOS machine along with my e-mail and Winlink mail. I get and send mail over the home network. Replies and forwards look just like e-mails.

  Two questions in one.

  Reply:

When I read a message, and then type SR, the subject line becomes “RE: <original-subject>” and I can type my reply, but the original message is not included. I’ve seen replies from others which include the original text marked with “>”. Is there a way to do that?

  Forward:

When I receive a message, and then type SF, I get the chance to enter a subject, but nothing else. Usually, when forwarding a message to someone, you at least type something like “check this out…”. Is there a way to type a preample before the forwarded message?

  Thanks,

  Michael
