Jerry, I have been pleasantly surprised by the awesome support from Debian 6 Linux. I had 3 different USB to serial interfaces. I plugged them into the computer and ALL 3 WERE RECOGNIZED WITHOUT ADDITIONAL DRIVERS! The COM ports are denoted as ttyUSB0, ttyUSB1, etc
Debian is the way to go. It's free and package support for just about anything is outstanding. It's also VERY stable.

Has anyone used a USB to comm adapter to connect a tnc to Windows computer
for JNOS? Not being a computer person, I find no way to find the address
needed for the attach command. Seems the address originates from the USB
side. Also, will JNOS accept anything but com1 and com2 with their default
addresses? I use Linux but still some people using Windows and the old 1.11f
version.
