Greetings all,
I have a beta version of my Pactor mailbox running 24/7 on my
system now here in southern Manitoba, Canada. This is the server
side, just like W2LK, it will handle all the changeovers for you.
All you need to do is use a client (Airmail for example), and try
to connect to VE4KLM using Pactor 1 Protocol only. Sorry my DXP38
only accepts PMODE. It works fine as far as I'm concerned.
I don't want BBS (forwarding) mode connects, just keyboard right now.
Use the following frequencies as guidelines :
SCS PTC users - 10.127 LSB
DXP38 users - 10.129.1 LSB
I think the MFJ1278 Pactor is close to DXP38 frequency as well.
IMPORTANT : ALWAYS listen before you transmit ! If you hear someone
having a CW or PSK or whatever QSO then wait for them to finish.
Please don't try to forward. I am having some issues with the Airmail
client in that regard. Just the keyboard session, leave me a mail if
you want 'sp ve4klm', etc. I just want to see how well it works.
If you need a rough idea on best times to propagate to Winnipeg, then
try the hourly HAP charts at IPS. The website is as follows :

Thanks to all.
Maiko Langelaar / VE4KLM
