   Yes, in order for smtp mail to be delivered, you do need to have the
smtp server running ('start smtp').

   My guess why you get the "Unknown address" error messages is because
your box doesn't *know* itself. It can't deliver email to itself if it
doesn't know its own address. You can enroll it in one of those 60's-ish
Self-Discovery seminars, but save your money and edit 'domain.txt'.

   Your box needs to be "resolvable", so add this to DOMAIN.TXT:

   k8rra.ampr.org.        0       IN      A       44.102.132.???

   Where:
   44 = AMPRnet
   102 = Michigan
   132 = Ottawa County
   ??? = Your personal IP address

   Use .41 for now (its the next available IP in your County per the
HOSTS.NET listing), but you should email the Michigan IP Coordinator to
get an AMPRnet IP address assigned to you. I'll send you instructins
under seperate cover...

 You will probably want to set the 'smtp time' to some value that will
deliver any pending mail quickly, but not run out of time processing any
undelivered mail before the timer restarts again. 'smtp tim 300' is what
I am set at currently.

   I have some good JNOS reference links on the ARRL Michigan Section
"Digital Radio Group" (DRG) website; www.MI-DRG.org

   Good luck Skip, glad to see more JNOS activity in Michigan!
