good luck. The going rate for an arduino is US$30, so you're looking
for a $20 modem?

If you want to go super-cheap, forget about RX and use a simple DAC
circuit (e.g. 4 resistor ladder).  Code is out there. You'll need a $5
or $10 proto shield to mount the hardware.


If you want 10 of them, the qty 10 price for the Argent Data radio
shield is $22.  For the arduino, the Sparkfun Redboard (an arduino
clone that i like better than the current standard arduino models) is
$20 (qty 10 price $19).

If you can do arduino based TX/RX cheaper than that, _please_ let the
rest of us know how you did it.
