[aprssig] Finding a frequency for the East Coast Packet Backbone

I’m trying to document east coast packet frequencies from Maine to GA for
our 9600 baud backbone:

http://aprs.org/ec9600net.html

Below is what we have found so far.

It might be interesting to connect to these nodes and see what kind of
network they have…

We know there is a 145.01 node at CAMELBACK-9 in EPA.

And lots of packet in NC:

I had a chance to go up Howard's Knob on the edge of Boone and do some
Packet sniffing today. I can confirm that there is packet in NC on the
following frequencies:

145.010 MHz
145.090 MHz
145.630 MHz
223.400 MHz
446.500 MHz

Can you contct these folks and get an update as well as listen aournd on
all the fqequencies I listed?

144.91-145.09 and

145-51-145.77?

Packet isn't dead in North Carolina. According to the site below, 145.01
MHz is still in use as the state backbone:

http://www.w4bfb.org/packet.php

Here in Boone, NC (3500 ft. altitude) I can hear packet stations on a
number of frequencies including 145.01 MHz although I usually can't decode
them. You can expect to hear the stations in central NC from Clingman's
Dome and Roan Mtn., and perhaps from Comer's Rock as well.
