Also, Yaesu APRS radios, at least the slightly older models, do not allow
sending messages to non-numeric SSIDs. They enforce the AX.25 callsign
requirements for the APRS message destination field, so QIKCOMsay will
totally not work on them. The user interface on the yaesu only had an
option to select an SSID number.
I complained about this to a Yaesu representative in Friedrichshafen a
couple years back, but he didn't seem to have a contact channel back to
the development. I wonder if it's fixed in the latest models.
