The 2012 Great Plains Super Launch will be held in Omaha on June 7-10. The
GPSL is an annual gathering of amateur radio high-altitude ballooning
(ARHAB) enthusiasts from around the US, which culminates in a group launch
of APRS-equipped balloons on Saturday the 9th. A complete list of
activities and other information is at http://www.nstar.org/GPSL2012.

Thursday afternoon: Tour of the Strategic Air and Space Museum near
Ashland, NE. Early arrivals dinner that evening.

Friday: Conference at Arbor Hall in west Omaha (14040 Arbor St, Omaha,
NE). Doors open at 8am for registration and breakfast. Conference fee is
$50 which includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For those interested in
breakfast and lunch only, the fee is $30. Discussion of the technology
behind ARHAB and its use in science/engineering education will be featured
along with lots of still photos and video taken from on-board cameras.

Saturday: Mass balloon launch beginning about 0730 CDT (1230 UTC).
Primary launch site is the Strategic Air and Space Museum parking lot near
Ashland, but alternate sites may be used if the predicted landing area is
unsuitable. APRS payloads will use 144.39 and 144.34 MHz with both
frequencies locally I-gated.
