Be that as it may, the original poster was wishing for "more igates and 
such ported TCP packets back to local radio." because "I have several 
friends in areas I travel that cannot see me when I am beaconing as they 
use radio to monitor local APRS traffic and their local I-gates/digis 
only port RF to the internet, not the other way.".

So, the question wasn't about how much you can put out on a 9600 baud 
dedicated channel, the wish was for -IS to RF traffic onto the channel 
his friends would be monitoring which in all probability is 144.390, the 
shared APRS frequency in North America given that K9LGE is located just 
west of Chicago, IL, USA.
