We could pass the hat and buy them a D710.   I don't know if it's
possible to use both receivers with the internal TNC at once but it
might be a simple modification.   Or we could add a TNC-X for the
second channel.

The advantage of the D710 is that it provides two good
receivers/radios with a single antenna and cable.
