[aprssig] Stand Alone WX

I've had several Peet stations (U2100) with the temp/humidity sensors setup
here in central Florida for about 5 years. I've recently been swapping the
temp/humidity sensor at each site with my spare and sending it to Peet Bros.
in St. Cloud to be recalibrated. It was brought to my attention last year
by a DOF Fire guy that one of my sensors didn't -seem- right (they
apparently monitor many APRS wx stations especially during the dry season).
I sent it in for calibration and it was indeed out of cal. I decided to
send them all in since they were all the same age. They (Peet Bros.) are
also replacing the vent screen material on the temp/hum housing to the
current version. They have gotten away from the white looking material and
are now using a more open stainless steel mesh material.

I've always had very good service support from Peet Bros.

Regards,

Richard

capacitance based, and ceramic impedance humidity sensors tend to have a
relatively long, but variable lifetime. My experience has been similar
to Steve's. Lots of time on them.

For the uses APRS-Wx data are put to when they go into CWOP (please DO
submit your data to CWOP!) both temperature and humidirt are valuable.
