Certainly, if it sends something, one would expect it to receive too.
But who knows....


HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\WA3HRL\link700\Version1\Settings\THD7ComPort
 
Is where Link700 stores the D7 com port settings, in the Windows
Registry.   Go up one level to get to other settings.

There is also an entry at...
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WA3HRL\link700\0.0.0.7   But the key value
is not set.
 
You will need "Administrator rights" to install the program at least,
maybe Wine faked them or is not letting it work the Registry correctly
if you are now running as a limited user?

I have no experience of Wine, but in general, take care doing stuff in
the Windows Registry, one false move, and the result can range from just
one program fails to work right, to Windows will fail to boot.


Of course you could look up and contact WA3HRL, if he's not already
lurking on this list.


I have to say, with the popularity of the D7 and D700, I'm suprised
there isn't a native Linux tool for them...

expect that if the BIOS calls don't work for receive, they shouldn't
work for transmit either, and I DO see characters being sent to the

	I tried the Link700 software under Wine.  It installed fine, and
looks like a good alternative to Kenwood's software.  But I can't
configure it; neither the File->Preferences nor F2 do anything, so I
can't configure the serial port.  Is the configuration file something
that I can fake out with a simple text file, or is it more complicated
than that?  I wonder if I install and configure it under Windows, and
