The arduino team has released the ethernet shield (aboust US$45, IIRC)
and software support is included in the software distribution.  There
are also at least a couple of third party ethernet boards based on the
Xport module and the Microchip ENC28J60.

There are also xbee shields available for zigbee-type wireless connectivity.
