This software is for POSIX platforms, mostly tested on
Linux platforms, but works also on FreeBSD and OS/X.

This version is RECEIVE ONLY i-gate with rather simple
configuration (compared to aprsd et.al.) There is no
danger of accidentally transmitting anything to radio,
should you make PTT active from TNC to radio.

This will always relay packets heard on RF to APRS-IS,
except a few cases when it is forbidden.

This can connect on any KISS/SMACK modem on any sort of UNIX
serial port. Real hardware serial ports are better, than some
USB serial adapters. A bug item exists on difficulty of using
multiplexed KISS/SMACK -- lacking hardware to test it with...
(Notably: you do NOT need to use kissattach at Linux!)

In future plans:

  - Bidirectional i-gate
    - Additional parameters without of which it will
      not become active.
    - True packet parsing for position data (and typing)
    - Strict area filter - gate only when the message
receiving system is within configured coordinate area,
not wasting time on hop counts

  - Digipeater
    - Multiple Receivers
    - Very few transmitters
    - Limit number of executed packet hops,
default cutoff: 2, max cutoff: 4
    - Kill packets with excessive WIDEn-N/TRACEn-N
request: default cutoff: 2, max cutoff: 4
    - Packets with timestamp are limited to be
repeated only for 15 seconds after their
      origination
    - Digipeat a packet only when it originates within
service area, track history of coordinates, and
if a packet without coordinates is asked for
digipeat, look for possible earlier coordinate.
Lacking a coordinate kills the packet.
