Maybe we should also look at standardizing on a more modern-day 
modulation, for HF APRS use, at the same time? Many microcontrollers 
nowadays are capable of easily producing more complicated modulations 
than the traditional 300 bps AX.25. Maybe they aren't as good in 
receiving applications, but most 2-way applications on HF use 
PCs/soundcards anyway. I don't know much about these things, but I have 
a feeling there are a lot of decibels to be won by switching to a 
modulation better suited to HF conditions.
