Changing the subject a bit... nothing airborne - especially high 
altitude balloons - should use a path of WIDE1-1. If it's really high, 
no path is needed at all. If it's something low down (5-10,000 ft?) a 
one hop WIDE2-1 would be better than triggering all of the fill-in 
digis.
