[aprssig] Nokia announces N810 Internet Tablet with built-in GPS

I have a Nokia 6110 "Navigator".  Built in GPS and sat-nav software
(works well, when you put the correct destination details in!)  The
thing as a whole runs the Symbian OS and a Java based front end, plus
all the usual Bluetooth, USB stuff etc, as well as internet access
(tested and working!) via GPRS or 3G and 3.5G, depending on available
signal levels.

Though not a "New" product, there seems precious little publicly
available in the way of any sofware development kits, hints, examples
etc, unlike some other similar (non GPS) phones.  I was originally
looking for a Telnet client to run on it, to remote control some stuff
at home, simple on/off commands etc. 

It'd be nice to have some tracker software running, but I can see the
down sides, if that was available, as no doubt the world and its non ham
population would eventually swamp the IS with posits.

I know what you mean about not having time to play radio.  It's taken me
some 3 months to find the time to fix the HF ant grounding system this
last Saturday, but I've not yet got to shove RF into it all to see if it
works yet...   The phone rang, and plans A..Z went out the window...
