OK, as a new user of a SmartBeaconing-capable tracker, I'd like to
see some suggestions for proper settings.
I'll start off by saying that I have set up my T2-135 for 1440 to 180
seconds between 5 and 60 MPH with a turn angle of 30 degrees and a
maximum beacon rate of 60 seconds. I took a little drive this evening
to run errands, so some shopping, and get dinner (meaning that I sat
in one place for about an hour). I ran both the T2-135 as W9RXR-9
with the above parameters and my Kenwood TM-D700 as W9RXR-7 with a
fixed 3 minute beacon rate. The results are not particularly
representative because digi coverage in this area could use some
fill-in. However, 23 packets from the T2-135 were I-gated vs. 64
packets for the Kenwood.
