At least it's well-documented.  The worst I've dealt with so far is the La
Crosse WS2310.  There's no ground return on the RS-232 interface, and if the
unit is busy taking readings, it just stops responding to queries in
mid-response.  You have to keep retrying until you get a complete record.
And it's this weird 4-bit memory mapped format.
