It sounds like you are describing an Internet connection problem and not a
UI-View problem. By all means, look at other options, but if your computer
doesn't have an Internet connection for whatever reason, no APRS client is
going to be any better than another. UI-View just ticks along here 24/7. If
you have Windows set to start up with no password (someone else may have
some other ideas there) it should be able to reboot unattended, but if you
want reliability, it should at least be on a UPS to get you through short
power outages. If you have a shortcut in your startup folder, UI-View will
start automatically after a reboot. If you have UI-View set to connect
automatically (schedule editor) and to reconnect automatically (APRS
server setup) it should be able to just take care of itself. What about the
TNC? does it always have power when the computer has power? What is
causing your Internet connection problems?

As Robbie mentioned, using rotate.aprs2.net:14580 would also be a good
move (along with auto-reconnect) so that if the APRS server disappears,
after a few minutes, UI-View will reconnect to another server for you.
