So it isn't javAPRSrvr answering connects on port 23?

Actually it accepted the connection, then about twenty seconds later
would issue a message "Ports Busy" or something similar, and closed
the connection.
So someone connecting to port 23 on AZ goes through this software,
(I'm guessing the local javAPRSrvr next), then a Tier 2 hub, the real
core hub, and finally to findU? Hmmm...

It still needs to be publicized, as I now do get a refused connection
on arizona.aprs2.net port 23. At least this will let those clients
with fallover try another server.
If people want to use Tier 2 that is their right, but I want them all
to be aware that the core is and always has been open for their use.
rotate.aprs.net is always going to be the most direct route to findU.
If a user's goal is to get to my system, the core offers the shortest
route. You can argue all you want about the superiority of the Tier 2
design (and I'm sure you will), but it is common sense that the fewer
middlemen something passes through the less chance there is for
something to go wrong. This event proves it.
To the SIG, don't worry, this is my last posting on the subject, so
one more from Pete and will be through. Let's see if we can make it
through this without a personal attack...
