"should" is the keyword.

It is absolutely needed IF you only use the front panel UIDIGI
settings and don't use a PC to enable "DIGI ON" in the internal TNC.

Even then, I believe that's an unknown and needs to be tested.

Looks like todays the day to take the laptop to the car.
