See if you can get hold of some non-corrosive silicone sealant, not the
stuff that stinks of vinegar. That will stop just about anything
getting in or under.. And is easy to remove for rework later if you
need to.
Good advice from others too, especialy about using the correct tool, and
checking for side airbags.
