Because new N-n digis don't respond at all to RELAY or plain WIDE
(without the n-N). Because of the KPC3 non-handling of RELAY and plain
WIDE dupes, these paths are not just not recommended; they are now
totally non-supported.

Unfortunately there are too many outdated web sites and publications
(including the manuals for the Kenwood D700 and TH-D7) still urging
newbies to use "RELAY,WIDE" . These users then wonder (and complain
on mailing lists!) why they can't get out of their backyard in most
places.

The problem is aggravated by users expecting to use underpowered
handhelds as long-range trackers, which makes them MORE dependent on the
home WIDE1-1 first hop (that they don't get by using 'RELAY".

Further there are a few pockets of hold-outs for the old order in the
south-east. When users in these areas leave their home areas with
trackers and TNCs programmed with paths starting with RELAY or WIDE,
they then complain that they don't get digipeated when they travel to
anywhere else. Or have to reprogram their trackers when they leave home.
