The downside, and one all operators of IGates must be vigilant for, is that most
people judge whether an IGate is present and working is by whether packets
appear on the APRS IS and therefore findU. However, the presence of an rx-only
IGate may mask when a previously working bidirectional IGate goes offline,
temporarily or permanently.

Therefore, all operators of a receive-only IGate must keep a careful eye out for
any changes in other IGates' status, lest ttheir area become served with only
one-way IGates...
