[aprssig] Newer GARMIN GPS Units OK for APRS?

Does anyone know if the newer (?) Garmin GPSes in the 300 and 2600 series
would work for APRS?

The bells and whistles for mobile navigation sure sound appealing, but I
can't tell if there's a way to get NMEA sentences out to the radio or APRS
Posits onto the GPS screen. All I can see on the website is that it has a
USB interface -- uh-oh.

Does anyone know?
