Tom,
it looks like Phil removed the standalone rx888d daemon in this commit 4 days ago (https://github.com/ka9q/ka9q-radio/commit/d1427eb5a573a864ba2f4877cff46503c9661904).

The rx888 functions are now invoked inside radiod 'main()' (https://github.com/ka9q/ka9q-radio/blob/main/main.c#L560-L562), and radiod@???.conf mailto:radiod@???.conf has now a 'device' argument to select the SDR hardware, which can be set to'rx888' (see here for instance: https://github.com/ka9q/ka9q-radio/blob/main/radiod%40rx888-generic.conf#L15-L31).

Based on this new setup, I think you just have to start radiod with the correct configuration file, and it will use your RX888 (i.e. no more running rx888d).
