My thought is to have the ka9q-radio receiver running all the time, on all
bands. When someone tries to connect with you, ka9q-radio hears that (on
whatever band), then the “big transceiver” automatically changes bands,
etc. to establish communications.
I don’t know the details of all of the receivers that ka9q-radio has been
ported to, but the costs weren’t very high (as I recall), certainly not as
much as purchasing a second transceiver, etc.
