You can use a simple shell script to set the teensy RPR into KISS mode.
Saves you battling with minicom.

#!/bin/bash
echo -ne '\e %B R300 \r' >/dev/ttyUSB_RPR
echo -ne '\e SO \r' >/dev/ttyUSB_RPR
echo -ne '\e I K1YMI \r' >/dev/ttyUSB_RPR
echo -ne '\e S1 \r' >/dev/ttyUSB_RPR
echo -ne '\e I K1YMI \r' >/dev/ttyUSB_RPR
echo -ne '\e %XR 400 \r' >/dev/ttyUSB_RPR
echo -ne '\e @K \r' >/dev/ttyUSB_RPR

Change for your callsign and serial port.
