IPv6 support in JNOS
A month ago or so, I asked Maiko, VE4KLM or he was interested in adding IPv6 to the TCP/IP stack of JNOS.
I have so many addresses in my IPv6 subnet, much more as the whole amprnet and it should be very nice
if we can use them at ham radio and the same is valid for other hams with IPv6. He was very enthusiastic
about it and added IPv6 telnet access as well as ICMP6 (ping) from Internet or LAN to it, as a start. Much more
has to be done and that is a a lot of work. We did a lot of testing at 32 and 64 bit Intel computers running
Ubuntu 18.04 and 22.04. This makes jnos much more future proof and is very exiting. Thanks Maiko!
The beginnings of IPv6 support will be available in version 2.0o, with the o for Oscar.
