[nos-bbs] password length limit

Can anyone tell me the max number of characters that can be assigned to a
JNOS password in ftpusers, such as for use by users connecting with telnet?

 

And how many characters does JNOS compare?  (Some systems allow long
passwords but only compare a smaller number of characters)
