Michael:

The prompts will depend on what you have compiled into your version.

So, 'YES' "YOUR" prompts will always stay consistant, unless you recompile and add or remove a feature.

But someone elses JNOS prompts can be different that yours, again, depending on what they compiled for features.

Subject: [nos-bbs] long prompts (non-expert mode)

If I toggle OFF expert mode with “X”, I get the long prompt consisting of a series of letters, followed by “>”.

I’m working on some automated scripting so I need to know what to expect for the prompt.

Question: Is the series of letters in the long (non-expert mode) prompt always consistent? Or does it changed based on, perhaps, permissions in the FTPUSERS file? That is, is it safe to assume that the last N-number of characters up to an including the “>” will always be the same?

Thanks,
Michael
