[nos-bbs] JNOS 2.0j.3 build error with static

Why change it? Well, one of our guys who is a programmer set it up that
way. I don't know enough about why that is good or not and he has since
moved on. I know the steps to perform the build (make clean, make, etc.)
but, not being a programmer, I don't understand most of the output of the
make command.
So, should I just set makefile back to not use "-static" and ignore the
issue? I'm running Ubuntu 12.04.

Just noting, you have a few '?' question marks in your postings, I assume
they are quotation marks.

Then why did you change it ?

If your linux has static libraries available (like my slackware box
does) then I will never be able to duplicate it. However, many of the more
'modern' linux no longer have support for static libraries, and that is why
I removed the '-static' a while back.
Has nothing to do with the rsync version, it's compiler options.
