[nos-bbs] How to run jnos in Ubuntu?

Ah, well you experienced linux gurus may be able to get by with text, but
some of us need the GUI stuff! ;-)

All four of our machines run on Ubuntu desktop. They typically have uptimes
exceeding 6 months and the only reason for it being that short is due to
some software updates or other changes (rerouting power cables, etc.) that
we make that require a reboot or power down.

Lately, JNOS has been up and down a lot but that's only due to us doing some
testing, adding forwarding links, etc. Otherwise, no issues with desktop
version. Still on 10.04 LTS.

I do believe that most are running it on the server version of
Ubuntu or any other Linux distribution as that is what I have seen.
at Gateways.
All that graphical stuff is using memory and hard disk space what
you don't need anyhow for jnos and the ax25 utilities
More stable at remote machines.

But of course you can run it at the graphical version.

In a word, yes.

That's what I do. I believe many others do, too.

Can I install, and run jnos on a ubuntu machine with a graphical
interface by using sudo or gsudo, or do I have to enable the root
account?

Thanks,
