My understanding is that these emails you are receiving are actually
a form of PROBE (not technically SPAM) from a source that is looking
for mail servers that have open relay capabilities. I have read some
where, the source(s) are likely working in collaboration with spamming 
outfits to find ways to distribute their garbage worldwide.

I remember getting a few of these types of emails a couple of years ago.
