[nos-bbs] multiple BBS's with same FCC call?

Thanks Bob. Recommendations/conventions/best practices are good and I like
to follow them whenever possible because system administration is just much
easier that way.

If that's the current recommendation/best practice, then that's what we'll
do.

name.callsign.ampr.org is just a recommendation, better is
xxxx.callsign.ampr.org with xxxx = whatever you want

At least something with the call in the amprnet hostname as that makes it
easier to find the owner of that hostname.

But it is a recommendation and not the law :=)

Yes, I read that entire site. But it says things that aren't happening in
the real world. For example, the newgate.txt file on the site says that the
hostname format must be name.callsign.ampr.org, but Michigan, for example,
has hostnames like hamgate.location.ampr.org. But that file is dated 1994,
and the FAQ is dated 1999. So perhaps the info there is no longer correct?

You can try this link to get an idea on how to make up a gateway submission
or to update it etc..etc..

Hi Jay,

Do you have or can you point me to a set-up guide for setting up ampr.org
hamgates? I went to ampr-gateways.org, but the info there is 11 years old,
not very specific, and I'm not even sure if that's the right place to go.

Thanks,
