[nos-bbs] tnos shell command?

We are slowly attempting to determine why when read from the autoexec.nos file,
the shell command causes an exit back to the FC-6 Linux root prompt.

We disabled the 'shell' statement from the autoexec.nos script, executed ./tnos -U O which
brought up tnos okay. We then went into tnos sysop mode and manually entered
'shell' <ENTER>
This gave us the TNOS> prompt.

If we then enter 'ifconfig' we receive:
"/bin/sh: ifconfig: command not found"

We then dumped out and started again as tnos sysop. If we enter the word
'shell' followed by any command or statement such as 'shell ifconfig' or 'shell
exit', or 'exit' from the tnos prompt, we get the following screen snap shot.

TNOS> exit

Does this info provide clues as to what remedial action I need to take?
