I have to agree 100 percent with Barry on this one !
Having been on the planet for almost 42 years now, I can comfortably
state that I have seen and experienced ENOUGH in the arena of joint ham
radio and emergency communications to agree with the above statement.
There's ALOT of software and protocols out there.
We need to view them simply as tools, nothing more.
There is NO one solution, one software, one protocol !
Integrating these things to work together is the challenge, and that
is most certainly a human challenge - losing the ego, stopping the
protocol wars, doing more collaboration on integration of systems.
I'm a systems integrator by nature. It's a cool feeling when you can get
two or more completely different systems talking with one another!
