Presuming that you are using a JNOS FTP client (I assume this because
'ldir' is not a "standard" FTP command), it inherits the "working"
directory at the net> prompt as its default directory.  So when you
are sitting at the ftp> prompt, you are in the same default directory
that you are in at the net> prompt on the local machine.  In fact,
you can use the 'lcd' command without an argument to see exactly
which default local directory you are in.  For all intents and
purposes, the FTP client 'ldir' command operates identically to
the 'dir' command at the net> prompt.
