[nos-bbs] fighting outgoing smtp

grr, I can´t seem to get jnos to unqueu the mail that has to go out to 
the smtp gateway.
local and packet mail is handeld right as long as I have the hostname 
set to pe1rdw.ampr.org but smtp mail is only queued.
I have set smtp gateway  smtp.wanadoo.nl and smtp usemx off.
I can also telnet smtp.wanadoo.nl 25 from the jnos system.
also typing helo pe1rdw.ampr.org is accepted by the smtp server.

Anyone got an idea?
