That was it.  I'd have seen the problem right away if I looked in the
log/messages
file.

Apparently the default outgoing udp port is 10093.

Also the default outgoing connection is IP and not UPD regardless of the
socket command.

This looks and WORKS much better:

Now I just have to figure out how to tie Netrom and UroNode up to this
and make it work..
