I have never been terribly enthusiastic about SMTP services, or
*any* services in general in NOS and it would appear that Maiko
and I think alike in terms of our interests being in the ROUTING
capabilities of the program...
The MFNOS SMTP "variant" is not all that different from JNOS's except
that it handles *some* additional things which were handpicked and
developed to satisfy my own needs at the time. I have actually *not*
attempted to keep the MFNOS SMTP server completely up to "spec" (for
instance, I never added recognition for the extended commands like
"EHLO"). It simply has a little spam filtering added to it and plays
a few tricks here and there. I don't know whether or not it would be
worth it to try and integrate the whole MFNOS SMTP server module into
JNOS. I personally tend to think it isn't...
