I love it. Any time anyone tries to tell me that the "Internet of 
Things" is something new, probably something that apple invented, I 
point out that Radio Amateurs have been doing it for over 2 decades. 
Position tracking, weather reports, near-space-balloon telemetry, the 
voltages and water levels at your off-grid cottage, status messages, yes 
even turning things on and off remotely, and indeed even sending it all 
to the internet and plotting stuff on maps and graphs. TWO DECADES ago.

Thanks to all who put together APRS101 and its addendums, It may be a 
messy mish-mash of non-standard standards, but at least it's a WELL 
DOCUMENTED mish-mash of non-standard standards  :-D
