[aprssig] Max packet size

Hello,
This should be a simple question for someone.

I believe the maximum packet size for ax.25 is 255 bytes.

Is there a smaller maximum size for an APRS packet, or could it possible
get there with
a third party packet complete with two full paths?

I ask because if APRS has a smaller max size, I’ll happily steal some bytes
back from he packet buffer.
