For what it's worth, since a couple lists I am on have switched to groups.io
Gmail appears to be less aggressive with duplicates as compared to through
I am a moderator for one of the groups and often see moderation notices.
When either I or another moderator approves it I will then see the actual
message come through.
Likewise any messages I post will come through as normal without
de-duplication taking place as when posting to a yahoo group.
