Just my 2 (euro)cents;

Don't put at least normal DX spots to APRS, such will congest the channel
with stuff which does not belong there as. There are better channels for
that, traditional DX-Cluster over packet radio in parallel to APRS on its
own channel is way better solution.

Otherwise I'm up to all utilization of APRS for telemetry and additional
data as long it fits the purpose and clients can use the information
without massive rework.
